LPI is an Italian company based in Turin that is part of the Lumibird Group, a worldwide enterprise that provides products both in the medical and photonics areas. Leading the innovation into the laser industry, our team has over 50 years’ experience in manufacturing laser sources for the market: we offer a full range of high- performance fiber lasers and laser diodes for industrial and medical applications. These products enrich and perfectly complement the Lumibird laser range.

Our company has always embraced a collaborative approach, working as a cohesive team to achieve state-of-the-art advancements in optoelectronic and photonic technologies. Over the years, we have cultivated a deep commitment to innovation, continuously pushing the boundaries. This European project represents an exciting opportunity to integrate remanufacturing into a cutting-edge technological context, aligning perfectly with our vision of sustainable progress.

Remanufacturing of laser products is not just an industrial challenge; it is a chance to redefine how advanced technologies can contribute to a circular economy. For us, this project serves as both a stimulus and a responsibility—to demonstrate that
remanufacturing can be seamlessly incorporated into high-performance systems without compromising quality or innovation. By participating in
rEUman, we aim
to set a benchmark for sustainable technological practices, becoming the first company in the optoelectronic industry to demonstrate how remanufacturing can bridge the gap between innovation and environmental responsibility.

LPI joined rEUman as a demo-case: the purpose of the pilot is the development of new technologies and strategies to increase the regeneration rate of our products. Our main task in the project is to act as a benchmark for rEUman Enabling Technologies, while providing our current knowledge on highly demanding remanufacturing technologies.
